Computers and network services

Computers in Dayton Memorial Library

DML has computers throughout the building for use by students, staff, and faculty. Computers on all four floors provide access to the internet, library resources, Microsoft Office productivity software, and specialized programs for the three colleges of Regis University.

All computers require a RegisNET login for use. Select computers on the second floor may be used by guests; please ask at the Circulation Desk for assistance. Guests of Regis are limited to 90 minutes of online computer use each day. Academic research takes priority over all other online activities.

Network access in Dayton Memorial Library

Most study desks in DML have network jacks for hardwired RegisNET access and power outlets for laptops. The campus WiFi network is available throughout the building. Please note that you may be required to update your laptop's security settings and software in order to connect to the network.

Printing Services

For Regis Students, Staff, and Faculty

Printers are available on all floors of Dayton Memorial Library (DML). Students receive a fresh printing quota each term (fall, spring, summer). Each black and white print costs $0.035 per side, while color prints cost $0.25 per side. Staff and faculty may also print from public computers using their Regis accounts. Students who use up all of their printing quota may purchase more through the Copy, Print, and Mail Center in Regis Square (303-458-4380).  Prints are automatically charged to the account signed onto the computer, so be sure to log off your computers when finished.

For Guests

Dayton Memorial Library does not currently offer printing services for guest users. Community users and general public can pay for printing servies at the university's Copy, Print, and Mail Center. We also recommend checking with your local public library system for printing services.

Print costs are charged to your account or card based on the number of prints, not sheets used. Therefore, a four page document printed on four single-sided sheets will be charged the same as a four page document printed on two double-sided sheets.

Photocopiers

Rates

Students can use their printing quota to make copies. Black and white copies are $0.09 per side and color copies (when available) are $0.24 per side. Students use their Regis ID numbers to sign onto the copiers. Staff and faculty may use their individual copy codes to use the library photocopiers.  If you have questions about your code, please contact the Copy and Mail Center at 303-458-4380. The copiers may also be used to scan documents and send them to your Regis email accounts.  There is no charge to use the scanning function.

Dayton Memorial Library does not currently offer photocopying services for guest users. Community users and general public can pay for photocopies at the university's Copy, Print, and Mail Center. We also recommend checking with your local public library system for photocopying services.

Locations

There are self-service printers/photocopiers on the 1st, 2nd (main), and 4th floors.

1st floor copier: There is one printer/photocopier west of the elevator.

2nd (main) floor copiers (east of the elevator): There are two black and white printers/photocopiers on the north side of the floor, between the St. Jude Room and the Tracy Center. There is a color printer on the south side of the floor, between the restrooms and DML 209.

4th floor copier:  There is one printer/photocopier east of the elevator.

DML also has a reader/printer machine on the 1st floor (lowest level) for microfilm and microfiche. Each page is 10 cents. As this machine requires exact change, the circulation desk keeps a good stock of dimes on hand for your convenience. To charge microformat copying to a department, ask a librarian for assistance.

WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be 'used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.' If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of 'fair use,' that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgement, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
