We would like to invite you to join us for the 3rd annual One Book, One Regis program for the 2019 - 2020 academic year. In celebration of The Year of la Chicana, the book selection for this year’s program is Sabrina & Corina by Kali Fajardo-Antstine. A National Book Award finalist, Sabrina & Corina (209 pages) is Denver-native Kali Fajardo-Anstine’s debut collection of short stories. Largely set in Colorado, these dynamic and poignant stories focus on the experiences of Latina and indigenous women in the American West, and explore various issues of social justice that affect us all. Kali was also recently the recipient of the Denver Mayor's Global Impact Award for Sabrina & Corina.
We encourage you to join our effort to build the Regis University community by reading and sharing the book during the fall semester, and participating in One Book, One Regis events and Kali Fajardo-Anstine’s visit in the spring.
We have curated resources for your benefit as you read the book. This libguide will also be updated with a schedule of conversations, including who will guide each conversation, as well as resources for facilitators of group conversations. This libguide will announce any book giveaways available on campus.
Moving into the 3rd annual One Book, One Regis, our nation continues to face acts of hatred. Our Regis community is challenged to engage in these difficult conversations that may cause discomfort and even sorrow, with the goal of transforming our lives and becoming part of a movement that resists hate and instead embraces love and a just world for all.
