Request Instruction : Departments & Offerings

Research & Instruction

The Research & Instruction department offers to teaching faculty course based instruction sessions covering library research and information literacy topics. Library instruction can be customized to address the specific research or information needs associated with course assignments. Common topics covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Research topic formation
  • Boolean logic
  • Search and retrieval
  • Source type identification and differentiation
  • Citation formatting
  • Peer review & scholarly communication practices

Due to staffing and space limitations, we kindly request at least one weeks advance notice. Requests are filled on a first-come basis. Upon submission of the Research & Instruction department's instruction request form, a librarian will contact you using the information provided to confirm availability and the scheduled date(s) and time(s) for the instruction session(s)

Archives and Special Collections

The Archives and Digital Collections unit supports class visits related to our archives and special collections holdings, as well as primary source instruction. Due to staffing and space limitations, we kindly request at least one weeks advance notice. Requests are filled on a first-come basis. Upon submission of the Archives and Special Collections department's instruction request form, a librarian will contact you using the information provided to confirm availability and the scheduled date(s) and time(s) for the instruction session(s).
