Health & Exercise Science Research Guide

Using Google for Stats

You can use Google to search for health statistics and data, but you will need to use a shortcut to limit your search to valid resources. In your Google search, type site:.gov or site:.edu with your search terms following. Using the "site:." before your keywords will limit your search results to pages only with a .gov or .edu address.

For example, searching site:.gov "smoking cessation"

will bring up only government websites about how to quit smoking.

For Canada, use .ca and for Mexico use .mx
