Regis Community Closet: Sustainable-Caring-Inclusive

 

The Dayton Memorial Library is excited to support the Regis Community Closet, a new initiative designedRegis Community Closet logo to provide Regis community members with access to casual clothing and small housewares. In collaboration with student groups, the project aims to promote sustainability, offer essential items, and create a safe and private space for individuals seeking gender-affirming clothing. Located on the first floor of the library, the closet is stocked with donations from both the Regis community and external sources. Regis students, faculty and staff are welcome.  

Donate to the Closet!

What we will accept:

  • All adult clothing and shoe sizes are welcome.
  • Pants, shirts, skirts, dresses, jackets, coats, bras, swimwear, athletic wear, shorts, socks...
  • Accessories, hats, jewelry, scarves, backpacks, purses, messenger bags, shoes, boots, sandals, etc.
  • Underwear (unused in packaging)
  • Unopened makeup product
  • Unopened toiletries
  • Small Housewares and Appliances, such as toasters, coffee/tea makers, cookware, dishes, cutlery, etc. (must be clean and in working condition).

     

  • We do not take donations of hazardous materials, broken items, food or electronics.  Items brought in for donation should be usable and clean.
  • Please no items with rips, stains, or holes, unless it's part of the style. No broken or unusable items.
  • Wash items before donating; they should be free of pet hair, dirt, and smells.
  • Before bringing in larger items for donation please notify Kimberly Kemp, klkemp@regis.edu.
  • Leave donations in the bin in the library lobby or one of the other designated bins on campus.
  • The closet will be monitored daily for cleaning and arranging items.

 

Closet Guidelines

  • The closet is for Regis students, faculty & staff.
  • Check out key at the Circulation desk with Regis ID during library operating hours.
  • Items are free, take only what you need or will use, so that all will benefit.
  • Keep the closet neat, rehang or shelve items, please.
  • The all-gender bathroom is around the corner to try on items.
  • No food or drinks in closet.
  • Do not leave garbage behind.
  • Donations should be dropped off in the library lobby donation box.
  • Turn off lights and shut the door when done.
  • Report problems or concerns to the circulation desk.
