Hosted by the University of British Columbia, the project includes course materials that address the 40 most popular courses offered within the province. It has since grown to include materials for trade, technical, and skill based training.

This directory is open to all publishers who publish academic, peer reviewed books in Open Access. The current requirements to take part in DOAB are twofold: 1.) Academic books in DOAB shall be available under an Open Access license (such as a Creative Commons license). 2.) Academic books in DOAB shall be subjected to independent and external peer review prior to publication

A project originating from the Washington State Colleges, rhe Open Course Library (OCL) is a collection of shareable course materials, including syllabi, course activities, readings, and assessments designed by teams of college faculty, instructional designers, librarians, and other experts. Unless otherwise noted, all materials are shared under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license.OCL courses and materials have undergone testing for accessibility and have been designed using the industry-standard Quality Matters (QM) rubric for assessing the quality of online courses
