DML Announces a New Feature for Research!

We're leveraging AI in our research and discovery tools: LumenPlus and EBSCOhost by offering Natural Language Search mode.

The AI Natural Language Search mode is an advanced search feature that allows our students to query our research and discovery tools using everyday language. This searching mode leverages Natural Language Processing to take into consideration the intent and context within everyday language queries, making it a powerful tool for students seeking comprehensive and accurate information through conversational questions.

Curious? Start searching now in LumenPlus and switch on the natural language toggle.

For more information about how Natural Language Search mode works check out the video: EBSCO's AI Natural Language Search Mode Video

The Dayton Memorial Library is excited to support the Regis Community Closet, a new initiative designed to provide Regis community members with free access to casual clothing and small housewares. In collaboration with student groups, the project aims to promote sustainability, offer essential items, and create a safe and private space for individuals seeking gender-affirming clothing. Located on the first floor of the library, the closet is stocked with donations from both the Regis community and external sources. Regis students, faculty and staff are welcome.

Fresh Banana Leaves by Jessica Hernandez, Ph.D.

One Book, One Regis

Author Jessica Hernandez–Maya Ch’orti’ and Zapotec environmental scientist and founder of environmental agency Piña Soul–introduces and contextualizes Indigenous environmental knowledge and proposes a vision of land stewardship that heals rather than displaces, that generates rather than destroys. She breaks down the failures of western-defined conservatism and shares alternatives, citing the restoration work of urban Indigenous people in Seattle; her family’s fight against ecoterrorism in Latin America; and holistic land management approaches of Indigenous groups across the continent.

Ethical use of Artificial Intelligence guide

The Dayton Memorial Library and The Learning Commons wish to share a new resource, our Ethical use of Artificial Intelligence guide. This guide does not endorse or condone any particular artificial intelligence (AI) or use of AI, but instead asks us to consider how ought we to live with AI to help build a more just and humane world?
