Prospector Catalog

History of the American Cinema available online and in print (various locations), 10 vols.
This 10-volume set provides an in-depth look at the American film industry from its origins in the late 19th century through the end of the 20th century. International Dictionary of Films and Filmmakers available online; also available in print at REF PN 1997.8 .I58 2000, 4 vols.
Each volume is devoted to a category (films, directors, etc.).  Entries provide a brief critical overview and often include suggestions for further reading.
